Letting Go Of the Shame Shield - Part 2- I know you have a good heart.

Join us for a special Online Training with our much loved Psychologist Gail Johnston.

When children are hurt by relational trauma they often view themselves through glasses coloured by toxic shame. Thoughts, “I do these behaviours because I am bad and unlovable”, and feelings of shame can in turn be a driver for reactive behaviours in an effort to shield against overwhelming shame. Helping children to move out of shame and to begin to see themselves through a more empathic and positive lenses can have profound impacts on a child’s recovery.

The second session: “I know you have a good heart” explores ways that we might allow the child to experience us as seeing them as more then their shame and triggered behaviours. Noticing, and celebrating the child’s growth, providing specific meaningful praise, and finding ways to connect with the child through delight can go a long way towards helping a child to see themselves as worthy of care.

Spots are limited to 20 Carers {and agency staff if space is possible}, so please register and pop this in your diary!

Part 1 {Naming the Need}, Part 2 {I know you have a good heart} and Part 3  {Putting down the glasses of shame for parents} will all be running at various times throughout 2020.

You will be sent meeting log-in details prior to the training session and MFF Certificates will be supplied.
