About Permanency Support
The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has developed a set of plain English information sheets for children, young people and families that explain what permanency is and why it is important.
These information sheets also clarify the different pathways by which children and young people can have a permanent home: family preservation, restoration, guardianship, adoption or long-term care.
The resources are simple and clear, making it easy for people of all ages and backgrounds to understand.
These resources have been translated into seven languages – Tongan, Samoan, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Dinka.
They have also produced a range of videos, outlining various aspects of the Permanency Support Program. These include understanding the policy, roles and responsibilities and tools.
